Help Chris get treatment and meds

Donation protected

I am Christopher Layne's girlfriend, and he lives with me. He was in a motor vehicle accident caused by a medical condition, that resulted in a Traumatic Brain Injury. Over the last couple of years, I have seen his health continuously decline.
I help take care of him, fix his meals  when he can't, take him to doctors appointments, and stay with him while he showers, so I am there if he has a seizure. I feel so bad, because I know he hates losing his privacy/independence, and he suffers severe depression over the loss of his ability to work and provide.  It has come to this point, because the seizures are coming on at an ever increasing rate. I never know if I walk into another room if he is going to fall out and hit his head for the last time.

He has had so many stitches, staples, and Dermabond to his head in the last six months it is ridiculous. The EMT crew and the Neuro- Intermediate unit nurses at Wake Med,  now know us like old friends. The last 2 months have been especially devastating for him...He almost died Friday night, after having a seizure falling down brick stairs and nicking an artery on his neck. Then he had a multitude of seizures all through the weekend, splitting his forehead open, I have never seen so much blood. I am drained emotionally and physically from this fight for his life.  If it wasn't for the support of my friends, family, and the love of and from this amazing man, I don't know what I would do.
I am truly beyond worried for his life, and I have missed so much work trying to take care of him and other family members who need help right now. I also have Lyme disease which slows me down a little...not exactly thier best hope for a superwoman lol.  While the medical community tries to find a way to help him, we are constantly researching things that could help, and listening to advice from family and friends trying to help; we have truly been blessed with love.
But I cannot always be here, and soon he is going to start needing medical transport, adjustments to our home for his disability, and extra help because he can't be left alone. He is also so limited in medication, and doctor appointments, because we can't afford a lot of them. As many of you know, we are doing everything we can to push Social Security for a "Dire Need" hearing to hopefully get him the benefits he so desperately needs, asap.

He can not drive. Every other weekend I drive 2 hours to pick up his kids (Gina is gracious enough to meet us half way- wonderful mother!) so that they can spend time with him, and his daughter cries to me, and tells me how she does not want her daddy to die. It breaks my heart, and we try to assure her, everything is being done to save him. Unfortunately, unless we get Medicaid, and he gets the assistance he needs from Social Security I feel like we are not being totally love in my life, and I my heart cannot take losing Chris.  So I am putting this in God's hands. Any help anyone can give Chris to help with travel expenses for Doctor appointments, medication, Dr. appointments, and with doing little things with his kids (because it is so important for them to have good memories and not spend their time with dad worrying.)
Thank you for your time in reading this, and I will continue to advocate and pray for whatever I can do to get this wonderful man the help that he needs. Even if your donation is in the form of prayers and helping spread the word, it is all a gift from God.
Thank You Sweet Friends:)
