Downtown Garner is a hub of sports and recreation and the center of arts and culture for the community and provides an ideal setting to nurture Garner's emerging business leaders and active citizens while preserving the unique history of the community.

 

 

ABOUT GRA

 

 

 

The Garner Revitalization Association (GRA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a mission to foster and support the development of the Downtown Garner area as a vibrant business, residential, entertainment and cultural center in partnership with government and private organizations.

 

GRA also manages the Nationally Accredited Garner Main Street Program.

Downtown Sounds Concert Event

Live Music, Food Trucks and Craft Beer!

 

Sunday, June 7

12:00PM - 6:00PM

Back Lawn of the Garner Performing Arts Center

 

Downtown Sounds is taking on a new format this year! Based on the tremendous success of our Food Truck Rodeo last fall, this year's concert series will become a half-day event with three bands, eight food trucks and two local breweries.

 

Join us on the Back Lawn of the Garner Performing Arts Center,742 West Garner Road, from noon until 6:00PM. Admission and parking are free!

 

 

Food trucks will include:

 

Ty's All Natural, The Humble Pig, Stuft, King's Authentic Philly Cheesesteaks, CJ's Street Food, D'Burritos, Dusty Donuts and Jam Ice Cream.

New Downtown Development Manager Named

Mari Howe Joins the Town of Garner Team

 

 

 

Mari Howe has been hired as downtown development manager, replacing John Hodges, who served in a similar role as executive director of the Garner Revitalization Association (GRA) before being named assistant town manager-development services.

Howe, a Garner resident, has joined the Town’s Economic Development Department and will manage the Garner Main Street Program, promote and facilitate implementation of the Historic Downtown Garner Plan, and serve as a staff liaison to, and executive director of, the GRA. She started in her new position on May 18.

Howe earned a master’s degree in city and regional planning from the University of North Carolina
at Chapel Hill with a concentration in community and economic development.
 
 

 

North Garner Dog Park Now Open

Grand Opening Celebration on June 13

 

Garner Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources has opened the town's first dog park! The North Garner Dog Park is located at Garner Recreational Park, 225 E. North Garner Dog Parkrner Rd. (beside the Garner Senior Center)Park hours are dawn to dusk.

 

The grand opening celebration is scheduled for June 13 from 9:00AM - 12:00PM.
